Q: What are the GlobeSt. Women of Influence Awards?

A: Since 1983, GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum has recognized a growing number of commercial real estate female professionals for their remarkable achievements. These individuals have personally impacted the market and have significantly driven the industry to new heights via their outstanding successes.

Q: When do submissions close for the 2023 Women of Influence Awards?

A: Nominations are open from now until March 14, 2023.

Q: What information/data will I need to apply?

A: The complete nomination form, including all questions and word limits, is available for download here. Please note that this is for preparation purposes only. Final entries must be submitted online, via the Nomination Portal

Q: How many nominees can I submit?

A: There is no limit to the number of candidates that a company or a submitter can nominate.

Q: Can I nominate myself?

A: Yes. We accept self-nominations, as well as third-party submissions.

Q: I was selected as a Woman of Influence last year. Can I apply again this year?

A: To avoid redundancy, we aim to vary the Women of Influence that we profile from year-to-year. We encourage submitters to nominate individuals that have not previously been recognized as a Woman of Influence. That said, women that have been selected in recent years may be nominated once again by including updated details that do not mirror accomplishments from previous submissions.

For optimal consideration, we suggest that recently-chosen Women of Influence be nominated in a separate category from which they were previously recognized. For instance, if an individual was selected within the WOI Finance Executive category last year, she may be nominated within the WOI Diversity Champion category, this year.

Q: Is there a fee to nominate?

A: No. Submission to this, as well as all of our editorial content, is free.

Q: Is this award for U.S.-based professionals only?

A: No. We accept U.S.-based and Canada-based professionals as eligible candidates for the Women of Influence awards, however, please note that if a nominee is selected as a 2023 honoree, they will be expected to attend the awards ceremony in Lake Tahoe, CA on July 25, 2023.

Q: How and when will the 2023 Women of Influence be notified of their selection?

A: Editorial staff will send email notifications to the chosen Women of Influence and their submitters in early May. Due to the high volume of nominations that we receive, only those selected will be notified.

Q: How will the 2023 Women of Influence be recognized?

A: GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum will honor the 2023 Women of Influence at the annual GlobeSt. Women of Influence awards dinner, which will be held in Lake Tahoe, CA on July 25, 2023. The Women of Influence will also be profiled in the July/August 2023 issue of GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum, which will be distributed in early August. Influencers will additionally gain recognition on GlobeSt.com.

Q: What if my nominee assumes a new role with a different company after the submission deadline?

A: By submitting a nomination, you are agreeing that should your nominee be selected as a 2023 Woman of Influence, GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum and GlobeSt.com have the right to include them in the 2023 WOI recognition, regardless of whether or not the nominee has changed companies by the time of publication. That said, for accuracy purposes, you may reach out to Ingrid Tunberg regarding a small update to the nominee’s bio, stating that they have since taken on a new role.

Q: How does the judging process work?

A: Upon the submission deadline, GlobeSt.’s editorial team carefully reviews each nomination without bias. The team of judges works diligently to select the industry’s most influential women across a variety of backgrounds and expertise. As company policy, we never subject to a pay-to-play judging model. The judges base their decisions on an array of factors in correlation with the awards’ criteria and consider each nominee's different accomplishments, whether that be in their role, through industry contributions, innovations, etc.

Q: How do I increase my chances of being selected?

A: Be as descriptive, yet concise as possible. Sounds redundant, but it’s simple. Provide details on why you think your nominee should be chosen as a Women of Influence, but leave out the fluff, like marketing content and self-congratulatory comments. Don’t hide the items of importance within pages of trivialities. Support your entry and statements with backup information—we love facts and figures.
