What information/data will I need to apply?

The complete nomination form, including all questions and word limits, is available for download here. Please note that this is for preparation purposes only. Final entries must be submitted online, via the nomination portal.

Who may apply?

The form is open to any individual, under the age of 40, who operates in commercial real estate and related fields, such as law, research, design and consulting.

Can I nominate myself?

Yes. We accept self-nominations, as well as third-party submissions.

How many nominees can I submit?

A submitter may nominate up to three nominees per company. If your firm has multiple locations, please coordinate with your corporate headquarters to determine official candidates. We encourage you to limit your entries to those who have made indelible impacts on the business.

Is there a fee to apply?

No. Submission to this, as well as all of our editorial content, is free.

I was selected as a Fifty Under 40 professional last year. Can I apply again this year?

To avoid redundancy, we aim to vary the professionals that we profile from year-to-year. That said, individuals that have been recently selected for the Fifty Under 40 recognition may still submit a nomination for CRE's Aspiring Leaders this year, and include updated details and accomplishments that do not mirror previous submissions.

How and when will the Aspiring Leaders of 2024 be notified of their selection?

Editorial staff will send email notifications to the chosen professionals and their submitters in early April. Due to the high volume of nominations that we receive, only those selected will be notified.

How will CRE's Aspiring Leaders of 2024 be recognized?

GlobeSt. will profile CRE's Aspiring Leaders of 2024 in a feature article on GlobeSt.com in early June. The chosen professionals will additionally gain recognition via GlobeSt.'s email newsletters.

What if my nominee assumes a new role with a different company after the submission deadline?

By submitting a nomination, you are agreeing that should your nominee be selected for this recognition, GlobeSt. has the right to include them in the CRE's Aspiring Leaders of 2024 recognition, regardless of whether or not the nominee has changed companies or positions by the time of publication. That said, for accuracy purposes, you may reach out to Ingrid Tunberg regarding a small update to the nominee’s bio, stating that they have since taken on a new role (time permitting).

How does the judging process work?

Upon the submission deadline, GlobeSt.’s seasoned editorial team carefully reviews each nomination without bias. The team of judges works diligently to select the industry’s most influential and talented young professionals, across a variety of backgrounds and expertise. As editorial policy, we never subject to a pay-to-play judging model. The judges base their decisions on an array of factors and consider each nominee's different accomplishments, whether that be in their role, through industry contributions, innovations, etc.

How do I increase my chances of being selected?

Be as descriptive, yet concise as possible. Sounds redundant, but it’s simple. Provide details on why you think your nominee should be chosen for this recognition, but leave out the fluff, like marketing content and self-congratulatory comments. Don’t hide the items of importance within pages of trivialities. Support your entry and statements with backup information—we love facts and figures.
