GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum Presents

Influencers in Senior Housing 2019

According to recent research, over the next five or so years, the US population age 75 and older is expected to increase by roughly 21%--adding 4.7 million seniors to the prospective pool of senior housing residents. In addition, seniors today are looking to stay social and active later in life, requesting a sense of freedom and community, sparking a demand for luxury senior living communities and developers are taking notice. Many are driving to create “resort-style” environments packed with amenities, to ease seniors into this eventual life change.

The industry is also acknowledging the need for technology updates in senior living facilities, integrating digital communication systems for increased efficiency and innovative doctor-patient engagement.

This new demographic dynamic is allowing real estate professionals to capitalize on the growth and get creative with senior’s needs and desires. With many ground-up development projects, senior housing proposals have expanded exponentially and have gained interest across the whole industry.

It is in that spirit that GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum is adding to its healthcare influencer listing and looking to shine a spotlight on the individuals and companies that have helped shape the senior housing real estate market and continue to drive its spectacular performance. The next installment of our Influencers series will profile not only the pioneers who have made an impact with their individual efforts, but also teams and entire organizations who have become crucial to the industry.

The power of influence is vast, and influencers yield such clout that they are able to effect change through direct and, more often than not, indirect action. These are the individuals, teams and companies that have had a recognizable and significant impact on the business. Be it through their contributions to the industry, the numerous successes they’ve racked up in completing deals and projects, or the innovations and best practices they’ve introduced to the business, these are Commercial Real Estate’s INFLUENCERS in Senior Housing.
