Speaker Bio
Demetri Themelis is co-founder of Knock, an award-winning platform that maximizes the marketing and sales performance of multifamily apartment buildings through CRM and communications technology. Through building and scaling Knock, Themelis understands the nuances of the multifamily housing landscape and how property management software is crucial to properties attracting and retaining residents to boost NOI.

Prior to founding Knock, Themelis worked on Wall Street for UBS as an Equity Sales Specialist. After a career in finance, Themelis turned to a new venture to satisfy his core motivations: a healthy irreverence for the status quo, and the firm belief that just as we do not live in a perfect world, nor do we have the systems and technologies to power our lives to maximum efficiency.

Enter the conception of Knock in 2014. The platform was created when Themilis and his long-time friend and co-founder, Tom Petry, moved back home to Seattle and became frustrated when apartment communities did not return their calls and emails. In five years, Themelis has scaled the platform to support management of over 1 million units across the United States and Canada, reaching over 3 millions tenants, recently nabbed a $10M Series A funding round led by leading Seattle venture group, Madrona that included participation from Knock customers, and just launched the industry’s first self-booking technology direct from apartment listing sites to multifamily communities.
