Shawn Townsend is a member of the executive management team at Ease Capital, a technology-driven investment manager specializing in real estate credit strategies for multifamily assets. In this role, he oversees the development and execution of the investment strategy, loan origination, and portfolio management. With over 29 years of experience in commercial real estate, Shawn has expertise in direct investment, lending, structured products, securitization vehicles, and establishing debt platforms.

Before joining Ease Capital, Shawn founded and led the real estate credit platform at Blue Vista Capital Management, where he built a direct origination strategy and managed a diverse group of institutional capital clients across funds and strategic ventures. He also co-founded Stellar National Life, an annuity-focused insurance carrier, serving as Executive Board Member and Chief Investment Officer. Earlier, at Freedom Mortgage, he established the CMBS lending platform, acting as head of originations and a member of the firm’s investment committee. Prior to that, he served as head of originations and capital markets at Gramercy Capital Corp, a publicly traded mortgage REIT focused on middle-market bridge loans and high-yield debt investments. Shawn has also held senior roles in origination, capital markets, and portfolio management at J.P. Morgan, Taconic Investment Partners, and Nomura Securities.

Shawn holds a BS in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
