Mr. Matt Ferrari is the Co-Chief Investment Officer and Head of Acquisitions nationally at TruAmerica Multifamily.
Since joining TruAmerica in 2016 to lead the firm’s investment efforts on the East Coast, Mr. Ferrari has played a meaningful role in TruAmerica’s phenomenal growth. Mr. Ferrari has been a driving force in TruAmerica’s national expansion opening new investment markets in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Texas and the Ohio River Valley. Mr. Ferrari currently manages the acquisitions team.
In addition, Mr. Ferrari oversees operations and asset management for TruAmerica’s Eastern and Central United States portfolio.
For his work, Mr. Ferrari has received numerous accolades as one of the most influential young leaders in the multifamily industry. He has twice been recognized by the respected real estate trade publication, GlobeSt., as one of the top 50 real estate executives under the age of 40.
Mr. Ferrari is active with his alma mater Georgetown University where he sits on the Steering Committee Board at the University's McDonough School of Business' Steers Center for Global Real Estate. In this capacity he participates in the school’s mentoring program.
Additionally, he guest lectures at the school and has produced a video lecture for their online courses. He’s an active supporter of the global Chrysalis, a nonprofit organization that provides supportive and employment services to underserved individuals. Mr. Ferrari is also a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC).
Prior to joining TruAmerica, Mr. Ferrari was an Investments Director at AvalonBay Communities Inc., an S&P 500 publicly traded multifamily REIT where he was responsible for acquisitions and dispositions in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. During his four years at AvalonBay, Mr. Ferrari was responsible for $500 million in acquisitions and $1.3 billion in dispositions. Prior to AvalonBay, Mr. Ferrari was a Regional Operations Director at Archstone Communities, Inc. after working in their Leadership and Management Development rotational program.
Mr. Ferrari holds a master’s degree (MBA) from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in management and business from Skidmore College.
