An entrepreneur and 30-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, Margy is the Founder & CEO of Akrete, the nation’s #3 PR firm for real estate development and finance offering media relations, content creation and marketing services. As part of these services, Akrete prioritizes the promotion of leading female voices in the real estate and financial services industries. Margy’s individual roles in the industry have been wide-ranging including development marketing manager, journalist, ghostwriter, PR agency leader, entrepreneur and board chairman and director.

Margy is a passionate advocate for women professionals and expansion of economic opportunity. In addition to her leadership of Akrete, she also serves as the current Chairman of the Board of Directors of SomerCor, one of the nation’s top SBA 504 lenders, as well as a Board Director and Governance leader for the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center, an economic development organization focused on manufacturing excellence and global competitiveness.

Akrete was founded in 2011 and Margy built the firm from the ground up on a unique “work when and where it makes sense” business model designed for working parents, creatives and others seeking non-traditional workplace approaches. This native-hybrid approach to workplace strategy has offered competitive advantages that have helped Margy and her all-female leadership team recruit top real estate writers and media professionals, and to serve more than 100 clients to-date including industry leaders such as JLL, BGO, Kiavi and KeyBank Real Estate Capital.
