Steps above merely writing a check or running a race, true humanitarians are passionate about a cause and take action, often beyond the professional responsibilities, to further that cause. Often this includes working to improve the welfare of humankind, including significant contributions benefiting one’s community through charitable work, philanthropy, education, service and other efforts—without the expectation of compensation or accolades other than the satisfaction obtained by helping others. This award recognizes a woman who has shown significant commitment to others, or another social cause, within the CRE industry. Individuals nominated for this award have made positive contributions to their community or the industry, and whose works and commitment to a cause have served as a source of inspiration. We will take into account the implementation of and/or participation in social, ethical or community service programs.
