Rija Beares focuses exclusively on representing corporate occupiers of real estate. In this role since the beginning of 2010, Rija provides integrated transaction services to clients in the Philadelphia region as well as globally. Rija leads Technology and Media Practice for CBRE in the Philadelphia MSA. Rija’s focus is on development of real estate strategies and implementation of action plans that support the business objectives of her clients . Since joining CBRE, Inc. in 2002, she has delivered a depth of transaction management and advisory services to her clients.

Prior to joining the tenant representation team, Rija enjoyed six years of advising institutional and entrepreneurial owners in structuring lease transactions and developing lease-up strategies. Rija began her career with CBRE, Inc. by way of the Insignia/ ESG merger as the Senior Information Management Coordinator for the six-office Philadelphia Metro Region. In this role, Rija served as the single point of contact for quarterly market trend information, detailed submarket analysis and CBRE, Inc.'s sophisticated in-house database.

Prior to joining CBRE, Inc., Rija worked for CoStar Group in Bethesda, MD where she held the position of Research Analyst and Newswire Editor.

Rija leads the CBRE Women’s Network in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and as such coordinates events and programs to promote the four foundational pillars: growth, connection, mentorship and advocacy. Rija is on the Program Development and Outreach committees for Techgirlz, an organization that exposes middle school-aged girls to careers in technology. Rija is also a member of Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs, a network focused on advancing high-growth women entrepreneurs. Rija enjoys cohosting Money Matters T.V.’s Growth Stories segment where she interviews entrepreneurs in the Philadelphia region to hear their success stories.
